§ 38-1. Placement of garbage containers.

  • (a)

    The word "garbage," when used in this section, shall be held to include all kitchen and table refuse, offal, all combustible waste such as paper and rags, pasteboard boxes, berry boxes, swill, and every accumulation of animal and vegetable matter that attends the preparation, decay, dealing in or storage of meats, fish, fowl, game or vegetables. Also included in the term "garbage" shall be whole bottles, broken glass, empty tins and fruit or vegetable cans.

    (b)

    All garbage containers shall be kept in a place accessible to the garbage collector, but never upon any street, walk, alley, public place or public right-of-way.

    (c)

    Any person convicted of violating any of the provisions of this section shall be punished as provided in section 1-7.
