§ 4.01.00. Notice procedures.

  • A.

    All public hearings and public meetings held to consider any matter coming before the town council shall be held after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Workshops may be held at other times deemed appropriate.

    B.

    A notice will be provided of any public hearing, public meeting, or workshop, to any group, agency or government that registers with the city to receive such notice at least seven days prior to the hearing, meeting or workshop. The group, agency or government receiving such notice shall be responsible to notify their membership of the particulars involved. Workshops may be held without the notice, provided a public announcement is made at a public meeting of the local planning agency or town council.

    C.

    Notices of public hearings to consider a change to the zoning map or the future land use map, alter zoning district regulations, amend the comprehensive plan or consider any matter that affects the use of land within the town, shall be in accord with the requirements in F.S. Chapter 166, and/or F.S. § 163.3184, as appropriate.

    D.

    Notices for variances and special exceptions: In addition to any other notice(s) required by this Code, the required public hearing shall be advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in the town at least seven days prior to the hearing. Such advertisement may be a legal notice in the classified section of the paper, unless the LPA or town attorney direct otherwise. The applicant shall be responsible for the costs of such advertising and the provisions of Sections 1.10.00 and 3.02.00 apply to any unpaid fees. Notice of the hearing shall be posted in a public place at Town Hall and on the town's message board.
